What We Won’t Do to Save Money

Saving money has become a national obsession over the past few years, but there are some things that we’ve decided we just won’t do to save a few extra bucks. Check out our list and let us know what you won’t do to save money.

Separating Two Ply Toilet Paper

According to HowISaveMoney.net, some frugal bloggers mention how they buy two ply toilet paper and then unroll it, separate the layers and then roll it up again. This seems a bit extreme to us and we’ll just keep our eyes open for the great drugstore deals on toilet paper!

Dumpster Dive at Cemeteries

We recently read a post from a woman who was really into crafts. Instead of buying her fake flowers and decorations, she would dumpster dive at cemeteries to get her supplies. We just feel a bit creeped out by the whole thing. We see coupons for craft stores all the time, and if you time it right, the clearance section can be a treasure trove!

Watering Down the Milk

FrugalDad.com listed some of his crazy money saving ways, and here’s one we won’t try. He started thinning the already thin skim milk with water and did the same with his son’s apple juice. We say keep an eye out for coupons and we’ve found that milk is almost always $0.75 cheaper at the big box stores like Costco and Sam’s Club. Plus, use coupons with overages and use that overage toward your milk. Thinner skim milk does not sound very appealing to us!

What are the craziest money-saving tips you’ve ever heard? Would you do anything on this list?
